Gabriel Govela is a Mexico City-born and raised film director and screenwriter.
He has worked with corporations and agencies like BBDO, McCann Worldgroup, Coca-Cola Company, Ford Motor Company, KIA Motors, ExxonMobile, and Heineken. He's also directed short films, series, and episodic TV. His work has been recognized at many festivals. In addition, many of his online films have gone viral, gathering record hits. Gabriel's style is driven by his love for directing actors, impeccable storytelling, and strong visuals.
He produced the documentary feature "Bering: Equilibrio y Resistencia" and animated short films "Ventosa" and "The Spring," which he also co-directed. These pieces were widely acclaimed and awarded in the festival circuit; they were also exhibited in the Cannes Film Festival, Musee Quay Branly in Paris, Brooklyn Children's Museum, and the National Gallery in Washington, DC, among many others. In 2021, at the SANFIC -Santiago Film Festival-he won the Blood Window award for the feature film screenplay "Zarzal" and the 2021 Ibermedia award for the development of the gothic horror limited series "Dollhouse."
